Online registration for all events opens Sunday May 1 at 5:00pm and closes Tuesday September 20th at 7:00pm. - - REGISTER ONLINE (CLICK HERE) Entrant will receive an email confirmation upon successful registration.
* Please note that entry fees are non-transferable and non-refundable. Entry fee cannot be applied to future races. If race is cancelled, due to inclement weather or other acts of god, fees cannot be refunded. FYI...race has never been cancelled but..we had to say it.

Start: E.C. Glass High School, 2111 Memorial Ave., Lynchburg, VA 24501

10 Miler Course:
Runners proceed north on Langhorne Road, downhill for 1.5 miles. After a short distance on Rivermont Terrace, runners turn east onto historic Rivermont Avenue.The 4 Miler participants finish at Randolph College, 1/4 mile from Rivermont Terrace. The 10 Miler participants continue down Rivermont Avenue and follow the course clockwise through Riverside Park overlooking the James River. Runners return same route finishing up the infamous, 1.5 mile “Farm Basket” hill.

4 Miler Transportation Back to Start
The Virginia 4 Miler is a point to point course. Participants will be directed to bus transportation back to the race start at E.C. Glass High School. Transportation back to the start is only available for race participants. Your race number is your bus ticket. Runners/Walkers should expect to wait for bus transportation and are encouraged to have alternative transportation.
AMAZING MILE CHILDREN'S RUN - FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 23, 2011

New for 2011, the Amazing Mile will offer three races for children:
1/4 mile (children ages 0-5) Race will be capped at 150
1/2 mile (children ages 6-9) Race will be capped at 150
1 mile (children ages 13 and under) Race will be capped at 250

Elite Athlete Entry A limited number of elite athlete sponsorships are available for the 10 mile distance. In some cases comped entry, food, and lodging will be provided. BABY JOGGERS / STROLLERS
Due to the size and density of this event, baby joggers and strollers are prohibited. The inclusion of strollers in races increases the potential for injury to race participants and children.
PERSONAL MUSIC DEVICES / HEAD PHONE POLICY
The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, The Virginia Ten Miler encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of The Virginia Ten Miler and its associated events.
We believe your race experience and those around you will be greatly enhanced by leaving the headphones at home or in the car. Running headphone-free allows opportunities to develop camaraderie with your fellow runners and to enjoy everything the race has to offer. Plus, volunteers and spectators will be on course cheering you on and providing directions to help get you to the finish line.
Runner safety has always been, and will continue to be, a top priority for our event. Please be mindful of the other participants and respect the race personnel to ensure a safe and enjoyable race for everyone.
CORPORATE TEAM COMPETITION
Corporate Team Competition will take place in BOTH the 10 and 4 mile races. There will be 3 team categories; Mixed, Male, and Female. Awards will be given to the top scoring team in each category. There is no need to designate a corporate team category with your entry. The best 5 corporate finishers, for each team category, will be designated as that corporation's team. Corporate entries will only be accepted online or submitted to the Race Director with prior arrangement.
ALL COMPETITORS FOR A CORPORATE TEAM MUST BE EMPLOYED BY THE COMPANY THEY ARE DECLARING. FAMILY MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF A COMPANY WILL NOT QUALIFY.
OPEN TEAM COMPETITION
Open team competition will take place in BOTH the 10 and 4 mile races. An award will be given to the Open Team Champion and Runner-up Open Team. An open team will consist of no more than 5 members with the top 3 finishers scoring and the other members displacing. Open team entries will only be accepted online.
